Master Gardener interns Dee Rapposelli and Rebecca Esmi will present a program on the 18th century dye plant garden highlighting plants that are grown at the Thankful Arnold House Museum. Plants include madder, tansy, yarrow, and woad among others. The program will include historical background of dyed textiles in the colonial and post-revolutionary eras, info on traditional dye plants and how to grow them in your own garden, and a demonstration to equip you to dye fiber with traditional and local color-yielding plants.
